"Fundamentals of Financial Management" workshop is designed specifically to assist business owners in gaining a better understanding of financial reports and basic financial management as a tool for better decision-making. There is no charge for the workshop but advance registration is required
The workshop will cover accounting systems and how to apply the information from key financial statements to help you manage your business. Accounting language including debits and credits, preparation of the balance sheet and profit & loss statement will be reviewed. Cash flow analysis and breakeven are also covered with specific small business examples.

New topics, new speakers and solid, helpful information for veteran entrepreneurs will be plentiful during the 5th annual V.E.T. Conference. Michigan’s only veteran-centric entrepreneurial conference will be held 10 Nov. at the Management Education Center, 811 W. Square Lake Road, Troy.
The Army Corp of Engineers, the IRS and franchising experts will join standbys TACOM, GSA, VA, SBA, Defense Center Columbus, Defense Logistics Agency and Center for Veterans Enterprise is scheduled to participate.
Last year’s event drew more than 200 people, so early registration is recommended. The registration fee is $35 prior to 1 Nov and $45 after.
